Fire Signs for your business
When it comes to fire signs there are strict guidelines that need to be followed such as the size of the sign, the colour and the content of the sign. Fire signs are required by law to help people find escape routes and firefighting equipment. These signs are required under the Health and Safety Regulations 1996 Act. Fire signs should be situated in a normal field of vision and should be prominent and take precedence over all other signs and are usually located above doorways for increased visibility.
There are two types of signs:
Plain signs which are printed onto PVC and luminescent signs which are prined onto a special type of photoluminescent material. In general signs should be of a sufficient size so that they can be easily seen and understood. Luminescent signs stand out more than plain signs so generally they may be smaller.
Here at Screen Technology we follow strict guidelines when producing our fire signs so you can be sure that your signs will comply with the Health and Safety Regulations 1996 Act. Visit our Fire and Safety signs pages at http://www.screentec.co.uk/fire&safetysigns.html and at http://www.screentec.co.uk/Brandedfireexit.html where we offer a selection of mix & match customer branded fire exit signs.
